How we protect your data

Data loss prevention (DLP) is, first and foremost, a security process and strategy whereby an entity attempts to prevent unauthorized access, modification, and movement of data. We endeavor to maintain:

  • Confidentiality of data: We preserve authorized restrictions on information access and disclosure, including means for protecting personal privacy and proprietary information.
  • Integrity of data: We guard against improper information modification or destruction, and this includes ensuring the information non-repudiation and authenticity.
  • Availability of data: We ensure timely and reliable access to and use of information.

What data breach procedures we have in place

Guarding against improper information is our utmost priority when it deals with information that is transmitted through our payment methods. We have two payment methods – PayPal and Stripe. All payments go directly to our Chase account and is monitored by the fraud departments at Chase, PayPal, and Stripe. We also change our passwords yearly in order to be able to keep all information secured when dealing with payments because we do not store any credit or debit card information directly on THEONEICE.COM.

What third parties we receive data from and who we share your data with

We receive data from Google Analytics. With Google Analytics we are able to:

  • Find out which external links get the most clicks
  • Better understand our audience with demographics data
  • Easily manage user role permissions
  • Automatically track mailto & telephone link clicks
  • Stop logged-in users from tracking
  • Track file downloads

And most importantly, Google Analytics brings all the data we need to run ONEICE inside our WordPress dashboard.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

The property, data, or information is not made available or disclosed to unauthorized persons or processes. No automated decisions are made. It is only used to identify our demographics.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

Businesses like us that are privately owned are not required by law to disclose detailed financial and operating information in most instances. We enjoy wide latitude in deciding what types of information to make available to the public. We, being a small business that is privately owned, may shield information from public knowledge and determine for ourselves who needs to know specific types of information. These include disclosure laws, financial condition, our operating results, management compensation, and other areas of our business. While these disclosure obligations are primarily linked with large publicly traded companies, many smaller companies like ourselves choose to raise capital if need be by making shares in our company available to investors. But at this moment, we are not giving this option a thought. Many small businesses are subject to the same disclosure laws that apply to large corporations, which are not applicable to us. Disclosure laws and regulations are monitored and enforced by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

All of the SEC’s disclosure requirements have statutory authority, and these rules and regulations are subject to changes and amendments over time.
